Amsterdam’s Science and Innovation Award 2016

If you are already attending the University-Industry Interaction Conference this year in Amsterdam, you may also be interested in the Amsterdam Science and Innovation Award ceremony which takes place at Amsterdam Science Park the week before the 2016 UIIN conference.

The European Commission recently awarded Amsterdam the prestigious title of ‘European Capital of Innovation 2016’ for its holistic approach to innovation based on four areas of urban life: governance, economics, social inclusion and quality of life. The city will additionally receive a prize of nearly €1m. Now, the city is hosting it’s own innovation award ceremony, taking place on the 26th of May 2016.

The competition is open to all researchers from universities, academic medical centres and research institutes in Amsterdam, with innovative scientific ideas and eager to turn their ideas into a reality. Prior to the award ceremony on May 26, researchers and students alike will present their ideas to entrepreneurs and organisations who are keen to discover more about the latest scientific developments and innovative ideas.

If you are interested in combining your conference experience with this event, the business programme begins at 1:15pm with an opening speech by Kajsa Ollongren, Vice Mayor of Economic Affairs. Find out more about the finalists and sign up here.
