Entrepreneurial University Workshop for Higher Education Professionals

Are you an academic, researcher, administrator, university-business collaboration staff, manager or a leader? Do you want to learn how to support your institution become more entrepreneurial?

The Entrepreneurial University workshop explores the entrepreneurial university as a concept and in practice. Drawing on published research, you will understand the world-wide significance of the concept and become familiar with exemplar case studies. You will learn how students and staff can reap benefits from an entrepreneurial approach.

It is likely that you are already committed to helping your university to become more entrepreneurial and you are eager to learn how to overcome the common obstacles to successful change. The aim of the workshop is to highlight practical steps that you will be able to take to help your university to become more entrepreneurial.

Join us on 20-21 September 2017 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Take part in presentations and practical exercises, collaborate with other attendees and share your experience. Register by 1 August to benefit from the early bird rate here.

As a workshop participant you will receive a workshop certificate, issued by the University Industry Innovation Network and signed by the workshop facilitators.



Paul Coyle

Paul is the Director of Executive Education for the University Industry Innovation Network. He has provided consultancy support in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America to universities with a strategic commitment to becoming more entrepreneurial. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities. More information is available at:


Todd Davey
Currently a Professor at Munich Business School, Todd is the author of the book ‘Entrepreneurship at Universities’, has published multiple scientific articles in high-ranking journals on the topic of entrepreneurship and was the Director of the first Conference dedicated to Entrepreneurial Universities in 2012. He has over 9 years’ experience in teaching entrepreneurship at universities in 5 different countries, including the creation of Business Idea Idol and Discovery Panel programmes dedicated to developing entrepreneurial mindsets. He is the Director of the largest study in Europe on UBC for the European Commission, the Director of Strategy at the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) and part of the development group for the European Commission’s HEInnovate tool.


The 2017 UIIN workshops for Higher Education have been designed to meet a range of needs identified by UIIN members and attendees at the UIIN conferences. Each workshop aims to support development of your understanding of the topic, your awareness of best practice and to help you to devise practical actions that you can take within your university.
